2019 UFO Challenge January Progress

I’m a late getting this post up but better late than never I guess. It was a busy January. Regardless, I was able to make some progress on my UFO.

January’s number to work on was 7. Celtic Hearts was my 7th project listed. Though I have stated this before I feel I must say this again. I’m not crazy about hand quilting. When I had first made the decision to hand quilt I was excited to give it a try. Didn’t take long for me to realize hand quilting is not for me. My guess this is why this project became a UFO.

A Year of Lovely Finishes……..February Goals

 Well, I didn’t make a finish for January so I’m trying again for February. 

One thing I realized last month is that I’m not the best hand quilter. Not that I didn’t already have a clue but I’ve never finished a quilt this size with hand quilting. Those between needles are just too tiny to hold and I just can’t rock the needle. (You know, I don’t really remember my mom or my grandmothers rocking the needle. Hmmm) Oh well, I am making progress and I have confidence that I will have a finish for February.

Goal Setting for July…..A Year of Lovely Finishes

 I’ve never participated in A Year of Lovely Finishes but have wanted to. Since there are only 6 months left of this year I’m going to jump and do my best.

My goal for July is to add borders to a wall hanging I started many years ago. I had took a class at one of my local quilt shops for the pattern Celtic Hearts designed by H.D. Designs. I finished the applique but never got around to adding the borders and backing.
