Yay! Today’s my day. Thanks to Christine over at Quilt Monster In My Closet for cheerleading this hop and to Mdm Samm as well!
I have to admit that I have never done a dresden plate before. I actually like them and I think I’ll probably do more now that I think I got the hang of it. This dresden wall hanging I designed in my EQ7 program. I had to keep it simple cause I’m still learning how to use my EQ7.
I used fabrics from my stash and purchased the blue background new. The white fabric was left over from the small wall quilt I made for In Your Words blog hop. I’ve been working hard to resist the urge to buy new fabric and use more from my stash. I wasn’t able to get the brown border on but that is something I do later when I find the right fabric.
For the pedals and the blades I used templates and turned the edges using the starch & press applique method.
I added some of my machines embroidery stitches to the petals.
The little center Dresden flower is partially fused down to give it a 3d effect.
Thanks for stopping by. Here is today’s schedule. Be sure to visit everyone!

I adore the layering of the Dresdens in your center block. Not only did you layer but you also used different points on the Dresdens for a great effect. You are a very talented designer and to think you claim to be a new user of EQ. WOW! The fabrics are beautiful, too. Thank you for participating in the blog hop and inspiring me and I'm sure many others also.
