Tickled Pink Blog Hop

Welcome to my day of the Tickled Pink Blog Hop hosted my Carla of Creatin in the Sticks. So glad you stopped by today.

I’ve been on a wool applique stitching thing since I moved to Oklahoma. The last hop I worked on my wooly blocks. With this hop the kit Spring Vintage Sewing Machine by Buttermilk Basin was the perfect pink project for me.

I was able to get all the pieces cut and appliqued to my background. I choose a off white flannel for the background instead of the called for grey. I love it, I think it makes the colors pop. I also changed out the pink wool for a much brighter pink.

The prairie points I went with a blue instead of the called for green. I also changed out the white that was for the needles and machine part for a grey/blue.

I just started a new job in the last couple of weeks and dealing with a divorce. I got behind on my applique. So there’s that to finish.

I do love this block even though is not small. It measures 16″ x 20″. I will be a perfect sewing room piece.

Thank you so much for stopping by. Here is a list of today’s bloggers.

  1. I love your wool piece. Yes, it’ll be perfect for a sewing room. You needed a little ‘tickling’ with the new job and a divorce.

  2. Good morning! What a sweet pink sewing machine. That nice soft background was just the perfect touch to enhance the wool pieces, I think. Great job. If you get tired of it hanging in your sewing room, send it my way please. HAHA! {{Hugs}} ~smile~ Roseanne

  3. I’ve only made one thing in wool, but I loved sewing on it. This is a beautiful piece that is so pretty in those wools. Thanks for sharing!
