This post is late getting up. I meant this to post at the beginning of January. Better late than never I guess.
I feel like my blog and project containers are nothing more than a wasteland of unfinished projects. So a UFO challenge is in order. The problem bigger than the UFO’s is that I have started challenges in the past only to end with failure. But, I am a persistent woman and will always try again.
American Patchwork & Quilting is having their 7th annual UFO Challenge. There is a Challenge work chart to download with a place to list 12 UFO’s of any quilty/stitchy or whatever unfinished project you have. Each month they will draw a number for you to work on the corresponding project on your chart. There is a facebook to join as well.
On my challenge chart I’ve listed 12 quilt projects. I’m not hoping to have a finish for all of them. My goal is to get some work done on some UFO’s projects and get myself further ahead. If I can achieve a finish in the process that would be great.
So here is my list:
- Gingerbread Houses

Gingerbread Houses Meg Hawkey from OESD, the blocks are finished and now need to be sewn together.
2. Tree of Life

Tree of Life by Betty Alderman. It needs to be machine appliqued.
3. Pumpkin Seeds

Pumpkin Seeds by The Pattern Basket needs it’s outer borders.
4. City Blocks
City Sampler by Tula Pink, the blocks are sewn. I didn’t make all 100 but I have enough to sew together for a quilt top.
5. Sprinkled with Love
Sprinkled with Love by The Quilt Company Started as a BOM with my local quilt shop. I need to get the borders machine appliqued and sewn on.
6. Ice Cream Cone Quilt

Ice Cream Cone quilt by Quilt in a Day needs borders.
7. Prairie Flower

Prairie Flower by Barbara Brackman needs rest of the blocks completed. This was the first applique quilt I had started and then abandon. I had took a class to learn applique in which we made one block from the book. I had decided to complete the rest and then just lost interest. I really do like the fabric and the project still. Finishing this would be awesome but there is more than I can do in a month. I’ll most likely only able to make progress. That’s still good.
8. Feathers

Feathers by The Pattern Basket needs the blocks completed and rows sewn together.
9. Honey Bee Lane

Honey Bee Lane by The Quilt Company is just the cutest project but another that just got put away. I need to complete the blocks for this one.
10. Maggies First Dance

Maggies First Dance by Jaquelynne Steves is almost done. It was a four block wall quilt in which I ran out of fabric for the last block. The fabric was no longer available and so the project got put away. Some decisions will have to be made in order to finish.
11. Sweet Heart

Sweetheart by Laundry Basket Quilts needs the block completed. I’d like this completed for Valentines but I know that is not going to happen. So I will settle for next year.
12. Bloom

Bloom by Lori Holt is such a cute pattern. I think I was off on Lori’s method applique. I think if I just finish the way I like to applique there is a good chance of completing this.
I do plan to have 1 or 2 free days in the week to randomly work on whatever in hopes of getting a little further a head on projects. I look forward to what I can actually get done or get ahead.
Happy New Year everyone. May your year be blessed.
