I had no idea what I wanted to do for Stitch Maynia or even if I wanted to participate. I went back and fourth about what I would do if I did. I didn’t make a decision till the last day of April.
Let me back up for those who don’t know what Stitch Maynia is. Stitch Maynia is a Facebook group that was originally started in May 2015 as a stitch along for fifteen new starts the first fifteen days of May. It has now grown into 31 starts for the 31 days of May. But some people make Stitch Maynia into what means to them. You can do starts, WIP’s or a combination of.
So, May 1st I woke up and that morning I decided that I would just do it. My plan that I went back and forth on if I did participate was would I start a new project or just work on WIP’s? There are 5 weekends and May is the 5th month. With that in mind, I decided that I would start 5 new projects over the weekends (Fri-Sun) and just work a WIP’s Monday-Thursday.
So here’s the plan:
1st Weekend: Start Independence Day out of the book Holiday Reverie
1st Week: Work on Winter Queen by Mirabilia Designs
2nd Weekend: Start Thanksgiving or Pumpkin Seed Packet out of the book Holiday Reverie
2nd Week: Winter Queen by Mirabilia Designs
3rd Weekend: Start Little Red Riding Hood a kit from Riolis
3rd Week: Snowman and Sunflower a Dimensions kit
4th Weekend: Filmstrip by Mickey Unlimited a Leisure Arts Cross Stitch
4th Week: Work on Raggedy Ann & Andy Hugs & Kisses from Designs by Gloria & Pat
5th Weekend: Cinderella by Mirabilia Designs
So that’s the plan. I’ll see how it goes. lol
So now to show my progress for my 1st Weekend Start
This is Star Spangled Banner from the book Holiday Reverie by Leisure Arts. The Designer is Donna Vermillion Giampa.
I’m working on 28ct Coffee & Tea Stained Monaco-All DMC threads.

I didn’t get as much done as I had planed. Sunday was spent working in the yard. When I did get to sit down and stitch I just kept miss counting. As the matter of fact I have miscounted through the whole project. I spent more time removing stitches than stitching. Regardless, I love the project and had a hard time putting it away this morning. I think I’m going to leave it in the Q-Snap just in case I decide to add some more stitches.
