Welcome! If you’ve been following the hop you know for sure that this is an awesome hop. One I thought I wasn’t ever going to get my post up for. I am extremely late and for that I apologize.
I don’t have to tell you about the craziness that’s been going on in the world. If you turn on the TV, social media, or even make a trip to the grocery store you know. I pray all is well with everyone. That you are a taking the time to calm yourself and are staying at home. This time of social distancing is a great time to do some self care, what ever that my look like for you. For me my job has stopped all work for two weeks. So I have decided to take this slow down as an opportunity realign my priorities between work and home.
I want to say thank you to Joan of MooseStash Quilting for organizing this hop. She is an amazing quilter. If you follow her on Instagram and see her 365 Silly Holidays, you do start to wonder were does she find the time for it all. I am in admiration. There is no way I could keep up. lol
Joan your amazing.

Okay, now my project. What I learned with this hop is that I’m not funny. I mean, I can be sacrastic….okay very sarcastic. But, that is always a ‘Johnny on the Spot’ thing. Coming up with a project that I thought others would see funny, that was so hard for me.
So what I did instead was look at what makes me laugh. I don’t know about you but I am a ‘Big’ Golden Girls fan. Have been since the show first aired. It was never because of all the political stuff the show brought but what I loved and still love is that no matter what is going on in my life the ‘girls’ make me laugh. Over and over.

I bought this book of cross stitch patterns last year at Sams Club. I also have a incredible love for cross stitch so I thought combing that with quilting would be perfect. Alas, my plans fell short once again. Along with realizing I’m not a funny person by nature, I’m also being pulled in too many directions. So I was not able to complete the project. For those of you who have been here before, I’m sure your not surprised.
I will show you what my intentions for this project was.

The fabrics are just there to show. I planned to stitch four squares, one for each girl and add star blocks to create a table quilt.
As you can see I got 3 of the four done and no star blocks.

Sorry for the white lint on the blocks. No matter how many times I went over it with a lint roller it seemed to be even worse.

Thank you so much stopping by today. I hope you have had a great time hopping.

What a wonderful project! Love the one with “picture it….Sicily”. I can just hear her saying that. The colors really pop on your black fabric, too. Love it!

I think this was a very funny post. I really love the block that currently is just feet. Enjoy the process of finishing your table runner up now that the time line has been removed. Looking forward to seeing the finish.

Oh, I’m so glad you showed us your project. This is just too fun. I love the Golden Girls myself, and would have never dreamed they would have done a cross stitch book on them. Their humor still makes me laugh when I think of them today. Love that I have a sister in the sarcasm department! LOL!! Keep well and thanks for making my day!

Hi Theresa! We all know life gets in the way . . . often. And especially now – and crafts may take a backseat. Who knew there even was a Golden Girls cross stitch kit?!! How cool that you picked it up and shared a smile and laugh with us today. That show always made us laugh! Stay healthy and safe. ~smile~ Roseanne

Theresa these blocks will make a beautiful table quilt some day. Be kind to yourself. All of us are even more scattered than usual with all that is going on in the world.

You’re excused. Seems I should have MORE time with the virus quarantine but I’m having your same problem – not getting enough done. I love the Golden Girls and still watch them whenever I can and laugh every time. The cross-stitch patterns are just adorable. I have complete faith that you’ll finish this sweetly funny quilt.
