T’was the Night Before Christmas Blog Hop

Guess what we got today (Nov. 11)? Snow!! It’s our first snow day. It wasn’t just snow from over night but it also snowed all day. It was a really light, wet snow. Very nice.
So I took my pictures again outside. It made for very lovely pictures.
So first up is what I received from Carol of Just Let Me Quilt.

Just Lovely!!! Thanks Carol!!!!

So here’s what I made. I found the process of finding projects that only take a few hours to make kinda hard, cause everything seems to take me forever. Except for making dolls, I can knock those out in no time. So I decided on a project I thought the ‘normal’ sewer might be able to make in the matter of a few hours or more. More, depending if your like me and take an hour just to pick out the fabric. 🙂 Unless I’m not suppose to count that hour. lol

I used patterns from the book Sew Necessary from Art to Heart.

Thanks to Mdm. Samm of Sew We Quilt and Cheerleader….Marlene of Stitchin By The Lake for all their work putting together this hop.

Thanks so much for stopping by and have a great day hopping.

  1. Beautiful pincushion and thread catcher set! A fantastic gift idea, worth every stitch (and don't worry, you're not the only that spends as much time choosing fabrics for a project as it takes to sew it ;o). Thanks so much for sharing! Oh, what sweet gifts from Carol! So pretty and practical. Enjoy!

  10. Not only did you receive absolutely amazing gifts, but that pincusion is way cool to. I think you can not only forget counting the hour picking fabric out, but lets not count out the “cutting” time, cause that's where I get lost at. 🙂

Your gifts were lovely. maybe you could pass that on to her for me, I could not get her comment link to open for me. Your pin cushion and thread catcher is precious and elegant in appearance. 15. Such a lovely gift! Carol did a beautiful job on them. Your pincushion is wonderful. I am sure I could make that in an evening … as long as you don't count the picking the fabric part, that part takes me forever! Too many options.. and I get distracted by what else I could me making with this cute fabric that I am not going to use on this… but I could use on something else. The struggle is real. Beautiful pictures and ideas. I have always wanted one of those pincushions. Merry Christmas to me? Maybe…. if I can pick out the fabrics! Beautiful project! Merry Christmas ~Cori

  18. I'm with you, it may only take a couple hours to sew it up but I take hours picking the fabric both at the shop and at home. That would be like 4 hours trying to decide what I am going to do…lol Great projects both from you and Carol. This is so fun!!!
