It’s For the Birds Blog Hop

Thanks goes out to Mdm Samm of Sew We Quilt and Mary of I Piece 2-Mary

Also to our sponsor Clothworks.

Well, today’s my day and it’s also the first day of the hop. Lots of pressure and I didn’t handle it well. lol

So here’s the question. Have you ever had an idea in your mind and have it be fabulous, then have it totally bomb on you?

It started off right and priming it up all went well.

My vision for this crow just didn’t turn right. What was going on in my head I couldn’t get it out.

Just have to put it out there and close my eyes and wince. lol

So I here I go………

I made this crow with a pattern from Olde Homestead Barn. The pattern from Olde Homestead Barn is really a wonderful design. It’s really easy to make I just didn’t do well with it, I don’t think mine looks as good as the pattern. But my boys say it smells really great of spices and coffee. They wanted me to tell you that the great smells count for something. lol

Thanks for stopping by. Here is today’s list. There are so much talent out there and I’m looking forward to seeing everybody’s projects. I promise my next blog hop project will be so much better!

  1. Bombed ideas is a specialty of mine but I can really see where you were going and applause for going for it. The feathers around the neck are inspired. Thanks for sharing!

  2. I love the crow. You, like me, are way to hard on yourself. Your boys are hoots! I don’t know how old they are, but they are priceless and keepers for sure. You have done a good job with them. Thank you for participating and being an inspiration. I hope to see you in future hops.

  3. That is the beauty of Folk Art Pieces…there is no wrong way to a pattern … just more personality! It’s nice that your boys support or wonderful efforts.

Thank You for sharing your Folk Art wreath with us.
    Sincerely,

  4. The only thing wrong with your crow that I can see is the beak. Other than that I think it is fantastic.

  5. Bombs are a way of making us more humble. Tell the boys that smells are important; I can almost smell the coffee from here. (Just don’t tell them I happen to be having a cuppa right now. lol)

  6. It’s a very pretty wreath! I think you did a fine job on the crow and I like the idea of scented stuffing. Do you think you would like the crow horizontal, like it was flying?

  7. Tell your boys that smells count especially from such a pretty wreath. Very creative. I do like wreaths.

  8. I don’t know if I see it right, but it looks like a Venetian crow mask, it looks great in the wreath, and the smell does the rest: great show – thanks for sharing!

  9. The ideas in my head very rarely turn out like I think they should, but your wreath is beautiful and knowing it smells really good is a bonus. :O)

  13. There is nothing wrong with this—it is primitive and that means it is often not in proportion. Bless you for sharing even though your vision did not match what YOU thought the output should be. Who has not had that happen? I can tell you are raising some loving and caring boys by giving their mom such an encouraging word when she was down.

  14. we all have projects that don’t turn out the way we’d like. But it really isn’t that bad…..it’s Prim.
I applaud your bravery to post it and not hide under your laptop. I could just see you wince as you hit publish.

  15. I like your primitive crow. We are our own harshest critic. We all, also, make things we don’t like, but this is okay. Your crow looks great.

  18. Lovely wreath and I am sure it does have a nice scent. The crow is fine. I am sure you had a different vision for it in your head, but since we don’t know what that vision was, all we see is a crow that works well with your wreath.
