April Showers Blog Hop……Plus a Giveaway!

Thanks to Mdm Sam of Sew We Quilt and Erin of Sew At Home Mummy!

Also to our hop sponsor Fabri-Quilt!

When I started to plan my project I just kept going back to when I was little. I’d draw pictures of valleys and mountains with little flowers and grass, up in the corner I’d put a bright sun. I’m sure many of you did the same thing when you were little and know a similar memory. Well thinking about April Showers this is the memory that wouldn’t leave my mind.

So I went into my EQ 7 program and went through the different blocks and this is what I came up with.

I’d never done a Sue Bonnet before and I had so much fun making her! The whole time making her I just kept thinking “Oh…she’s so sweet”!

Now for a giveaway, an embroidery pattern called Breath of Spring by Crab-apple Hill, ……leave me a comment and I will draw a winner from the comments on April  18th. You don’t have to be a follower but if you want to follow I’d love to have you stick around. This giveaway is open to U.S. and International. Please make sure your not a no-reply blogger, you can’t win if I can’t contact you.

Giveaway now ended.

Be sure to visit the others and leave comments! šŸ™‚

  2. Love your mug rug and yes I use to draw the scenery with sun in the corner. I am glad you took your art to the next level. The embroider pattern looks sweet.

  3. Very sweet mug rug. I just saw a pattern from Darlene Zimmerman that embroiders the top have of the sun bonnet girl, and uses a vintage hankie for her skirt. Very cute too. I started a sag many years ago, and it is still in the ufo pile at my mom's home!!

  4. Wow, you are a talented stitcher! Your mug rug is beautiful! I'm a quilter, not an embroiderer, so don't enter me in your giveaway, but I wanted to say that I admire your work. Thanks for sharing.
