Thanks to Mdm Samm of Sew We Quilt! and Marlene of Stitchin By The Lake hop cheerleader! Also thanks to Amy Bradley for designing this cute little pattern for this hop.
I struggled with this project a little. I couldn’t decide on a background and then again on the attaching binding. Binding is not my favorite thing because I’m so bad at it. You’d think after all this time quilting, I’d have it down already but I never bind my quilts. I avoid it. With this little quilt I give it a try (again) and well the results were less than desirable.
Watching some tutorials, I hard time flipping the image in my head and making my hands do what I just saw.
Thanks so much for stopping by today!

That sounds kinda like making a pillow case. That I've done so I can kinda see that. May have to give that a try on a mini quilt that is not a challenge project. Thanks for you comment and for stopping by.

Lately I've been seeing more quilting projects done in shades of black and white and I'm really liking it! I love your little quilt, so cute! And I sympathize with your lefty problem, my son is a lefty and growing up he had some difficulties with certain tasks. I'm actually doing a reproduction quilt now that has no binding. Once I get the top done, I don't even want to mention how long I've been working on it, you just sandwich the top, batting and backing and sew around, turn right side out and then quilt. I haven't tried this yet so I can't tell you how it works. But I imagine on a smaller quilt it might work nicely.

If I had posted some of the other pictures I took I wouldn't had to point it out, it would have very obvious. I talk about my struggles cause I know they don't define who I am. Thanks so much for your compliment and for stopping by! 🙂

Thanks! It's more than pointing out mistakes as much as it's sharing my struggles. I've gotten some great tips. I'm a hands-on/audio learner who was taught to be right handed cause girls weren't suppose to be left handed. It just makes learning from books and videos a little challenging. 🙂

Thanks so much! I really don't like binding either, cause it's so hard to get right. The border fabric came from my stash. It is circuit boards. It's by Timeless Treasures. I bought it a really long time ago at a quilt shop while on vacation in Oklahoma.

Thanks so much Marlene! Some things are easy for me and some I just can't get, at least not with a lot of practice. Even then I will never be great, just good or okay. That's fine though. I'm thinking I just need to come up with another way to bind. 🙂

My problem I think is that I've spent most of my life doing everything right handed unless I've taught myself. For me to do that I've had to reverse things in my head, whether it is for my right or left hand. I'm a hands-on/audio learner. That with being an on purpose ambidextrous makes learning new things challenging sometimes. I guess I need to try taking another class. After a few more times maybe the technique will start to sink in. lol

Thanks so much for your words of encouragement. I think it is important to talk of our struggles as well as are successes. In blogland sometimes things seem so perfect. That's not reality.
